Given past experience with this seller I think it will arrive here within a few days of the move.

It always amazes me how quickly the packages arrive from this seller.

I find anything for $50+ or anything that is only a 2 point upgrade a lot less appealing. I have almost no interest in 1-point upgrades, especially when I already have a 67. The cost / benefit just isn’t there for me as a 67 is already a superb gem Uncirc and a dang fine note for any collection.

I'm 100% onboard with this line of thinking, it's just not worth it in my collecting areas at least, and I'm much more inclined to leave a slot empty for my newer sets as opposed to buying a "filler".

You'd have to pay shipping to them but, if you really want to end the temptation PMG will reholder a mechanical error for free.

And lose my safety blanket? lol I will eventually. Once I get the P 125. JK

Oh, what a tortured little world I live in.

I'll send it in with my first submission to PMG, hopefully sometime next year.;) :wishluck:

I think the system would have taken it and you probably would have gotten away with it until or unless someone complained or the set got serious attention for an award and someone was really looking. That nite isn't that different than the real deal and it even has the same denom from the looks of it.

But you've done yourself no favors by blabbing. lol

    HA!

The note in the holder is from the new series, dated 2019. For the P 125 they basically stuck a holographic sticker on it, the design is exactly the same as the other 50 Hryven banknotes of the same series (P 121). Lol, blabbing does a few things for me. It helps to alleviate any temptation that might arise and it alerts others to it's existence and to the possible existence of others being out there. :gossip:

Short of getting the Caltex coupons, which people seem to want moon money for, it seems like I have a pretty solid representative set of them at this point.

But do you have all the varieties of cancellation stamps use? LOL, oh I have a sickness because that's what I'm doing with the Ukrainian Compensation Certificates but at $2-$5 a piece it's a cheap way to stay active with my collection as the number of notes I'm looking for starts to wane.

I would love the "want" option because that would also let me directly incorporate my soon to be 14 coin collection and have everything in one place painlessly. It's a little sad that we've never gotten cross-platform options in the registry. That could lead to some truly epic sets and online presentations for them.

    Yes, to all of this.

I hadn't thought it through that far but it would indeed be epic, I let my frustration get in the way.:frustrated:

  6. Yeah, that's a little salty for the fuel coupons but there's always this years registry awards. :wishluck:

Your idea of entering a graded note cert # and using images of the coupons and descriptions is a good workaround in the signature sets. Not sure why you can't  enter a "wanted" note like you can across the isle with coins though. Sounds like those gas coupons are relatively inexpensive and picking up few more for an extensive "raw" collection sounds like a great idea to me, I'm doing something similar with some of my notes.

My grades came back for the 12 Traveler’s Cheques (2 sets of 6) and the 3 Hole-filling 2nd Dollar Bearer Cheques… and I am thrilled!!!! They did significantly better than I’d been allowing myself to hope for. I’d been thinking I’d be extremely happy if Fenntucky Mike was right, and they all came back with grades in the 61-63 range. I was mentally bracing to get a bunch in the AU50-55 range. Instead, I got the following.

    2071710808_201821201_1191682134604237_7841791721036302596_n(1).jpg.4afd2e050fe4d1e649157b19fb168f52.jpg196352837_497329484884239_1528368415419471550_n.jpg.c4baa31ce7ad7488c3e6a70eb096a6d3.jpg197344830_319725152946085_2898271477096899668_n.jpg.57232ba0828e763dd90609f343bb096b.jpg

I’m not a note grader. I don’t at all know how to grade these and don’t claim to know. This was a shot in the dark for me with the best examples I could find at a reasonable-feeling price. This is one of the reasons I normally would not want to self-submit notes because I just don’t know what makes a promising bet and what could be a deal-breaker. So, I was just trying to cross my fingers and come in with what I hoped were reasonable expectations and this blew me away.

11 out of 12 got the EPQ designation and 9 out of 12 came back at 63 or above.

A 66 EPQ a P-17 and a P-19 has me over the moon and a 65 EPQ for P-20, combined with the P-15 in 65 EPQ is enough to make a very strong set of these checks, with a 63 EPQ and 64 EPQ to round out the set. It is a tiny bit of a bummer that both P-15s came back at 64 EPQ, below the 65 EPQ on the one I have, so on paper that arguably was a waste, but those are still very solid grades that just barely missed the other and I wanted P-15s as my -001 on the invoices.

I split the traveler’s checks into 2 invoices so I’d have two groups of -001 to -006 – maybe two competitive sets with all the same invoice number. Because all the higher grades didn’t land on one submission and because the P-15s didn’t beat the other, if I want to make the best competitive set I can I’d have to mix and match, which would defeat the purpose of paying the $10 to split the two invoices and submit the P-15s. I’ll decide later how I want to deal with that – go for style or go for the strongest possible group of 6.

I’m thinking I may have to contact the seller and tell him how this turned out and thank him. I’m definitely feeling good at this point for paying the extra cash to have him pick and pull the nicest examples he had.

On the bearer checks, the 64 EPQ on the P-46b is slightly disappointing, but the 67 EPQ top pop on the P-40 was great, and this gives me a complete graded set for the 2nd dollar, which is what I wanted out of that. I'll be in no rush to upgrade or try for an upgrade on that 64 I think.

The "Stamp Cancelled" comment is interesting in that it IS in the comments on the back but it seems to be new. My older P-15 - which is still in a new gen holder - doesn't have it.

  8. +20 = 2,262

    2 Hryven +1

    5 Hryven +1

    10 Hryven +1

    20 Hryven +1

    50 Hryven +2

    100 Hryven +1

    50 Karbovantsiv +1

    100 Karbovantsiv +1

    250 Karbovantsiv +1

    20,000 Karbovantsiv +2

    10 Shahiv +2

    20 Shahiv +2

    30 Shahiv +2

    40 Shahiv +2

The +2 increases give me some hope that a few Shahiv stamps will be going up for sale in the near future, we'll see, the +1 increases have me scratching my head a bit if all these notes were on a single submission. I tend to think the Shahiv were one submission and all the others were on a separate on from a different person. The Shahiv are a different animal compared to the other notes that saw an increase.

Based on how many of these have sold, I may be alone in this, but I have a hard time convincing myself to spend $20-25 for a fantasy note when the real notes are available for this much or less in raw form.

$20? Mmmm, I don't know about that but at least it kind of fits in with the original notes. Design wise. I could see picking this up as a complement piece. There is a "gold plated" version of this that is being sold as a lot of 30 for $30, I could wrap my head around that.

I bet I could easily spend $1k on fantasy notes for Ukraine, I probably have around 40-50 as it stands now, and there are probably another 200+ out there. The only problem is that there are some real dogs out there, like this one. Think I needed another couple bucks to get free shipping on a large order again.

I'd like to say, I need room to post at least one more picture.  I have tried to standardize in the past decade or so to post a front and a back in their proper slots.  It makes for a neat looking collection.

A very good start to the set! I'd love at least two more pictures per note, especially moderns, to display the note under UV and IR and watermarks.... Hmmmm..... Ok, I'd like to see at least five more pictures. lol Or be able to post pics in the description, I think I might even prefer that, but they don't even have these features across the isle and if it's ever going to happen it'll be there first. Then maybe over here in my lifetime. :preach:

  11. Now all you need are the Quadrillion, Quintillion, Octillion, Centillion, Bicentillion, Tricentillion, Yottalilliion, Durmillion, Zettalillion and Quadringentillion fantasy notes and you'll be all set. :roflmao:I took a look on ebay to see how many fantasy banknotes there are for Zimbabwe and there are quite a few but not as many as Ukraine.

I was on reddit recently and a guy told me that I’d inspired him to get two of the 100 Trillion notes, but, when he told me that he only spent a few dollars on it I told him what he’d probably really bought was a couple of the silver foil replicas

That stinks. I can see those silver ones tricking a lot of people, especially if the sellers aren't up front about them. Those silver notes have probably fooled hundreds/thousands of people. How many $$$$'s have been made on these, hm, selling to knowing and unknowing buyers. Not a bad gig I suspect, even for 100% honest and upfront sellers.
