123cents Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I picked up this Gold Certificate not long ago. Though it is heavily circulated it has pretty nice color.
jtryka Posted July 11, 2008 Author Report Posted July 11, 2008 I like it, and it has the highest serial number I've ever seen!
kbsig106 Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Picked up this $2 FRN (I*) raw, this is the rarest of all $2 FRN(s) in four series. Sent the note off to PMG, it was nice and crisp. Came back a nice 66 EPQ (only one graded higher at 67). I Like my $2 FRN(s) RARE ...

kbsig106 Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Thanks - but actually it is on the high end of the block. the S/N start at 00 000 001* through 00 640 000* . It's a though note to pick up - there is only one on ebay right now in CHCU and another in a lesser condition. Next to go to PMG is a 2003A $2 (F*) Atlanta Star note - only came in sheets with a total print of 320,000 (you can say is rarer than the 1976 I*). Hopefully it will put me in the #1 position with the Small Sized $2 FRN's. Edited July 18, 2008 by kbsig106
vtrockin Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 So I'm new to the paper world. Given my love of colonial/revolutionary history I thought this would be the perfect starting point:
dean1345 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I bought this Fr.1374 50c fractional currency on ebay recently. It resides in a PMG holder AU58 EPQ. [/img]
dean1345 Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 A 1953 red seal star note with a low serial number in Ch CU condition. Dean
gpnyc Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Picked up a couple of series 1963 low serial stars. From 2 different sources but they are a good match. Both face up CU but are in really only Choice AU.
dean1345 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Very nice star notes and the low serial numbers boost their value upwards. Dean (thumbs u
gpnyc Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Very nice star notes and the low serial numbers boost their value upwards. Dean (thumbs u As well as their cost, unfortunately.... Glad you like 'em!
dean1345 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I got this Fr.1376 from a Proxibid auction last month. I have always liked these fractional currency. Dean
gpnyc Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Some low serial goodness arrived from my friends at usarare:
dean1345 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Love them both. Those 1966 red seal $100 bills are hard to find in Gem CU much less with with that low s/n. The $10 1934 silver certificate is very nice. Are you going to send the $10 in for certification? Great pickups. I'm jealous. Dean

As for certifying the $10, I did quite the opposite - the $100 has already been removed from its holder. They fit better in my albums when they are not in holders. Most small size notes I intend to keep for a long time will get cut out, especially if they are in a non-PMG holder.
jtryka Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 Nice ones GP! Here is my latest (certainly the condition is nothing like yours!):
dean1345 Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Poker Chip notes are hard to find in any grade. Very nice pickup. Looks to be in Fine condition. Dean (thumbs u
jtryka Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 Thanks Dean! I just got it in the mail last week and I only wish the face was as nice as the back! Still, it'll make a nice pair with my 1923 $5 porthole!
Comicdey Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 New to this area of the boards... I hang out in the GA comic threads, but seeing all these great notes makes me want to start collecting coins and bills again. I've got a few hundred dollars worth of esoteric US paper notes ranging in grades and I have no idea what any of the stuff is worth. Guess I should post a few for comments. I know I've got one horseblanket note and a bunch of 1928 on up $1/$2/$5/$10/$20 (maybe one or two $50's) and a few with stars, a few minor errors, a bit of military currency from the 1950's and other misc. stuff. Is there a good place here for foreign paper too.... As this is my first post here and I'm not inclined to do too much searching due to time, feel free to pm me... Thanks for sharing guys......
me0505 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 I have been looking for this note (my home town) for a couple/few years now. Thanks to a board member, I have one in my hands/collection. Thanks brian339!
gpnyc Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Always cool to get a home-town national. Congrats!
jtryka Posted November 14, 2008 Author Report Posted November 14, 2008 I got these today from a fellow board member, never realized how thin the paper on the 1862 was, feels like confederate money!
dean1345 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Love The Martha silver certificate and the George "rainbow". Dean (thumbs u
jtryka Posted November 23, 2008 Author Report Posted November 23, 2008 Here is another new one I got last week:
BRIAN339 Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Jeff that Jacka ss is a real keeper! I will miss it............
dean1345 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Picked up this FRN 1934 star note recently. It is in CHCU condition.
gpnyc Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Nice one Dean. These early FRN stars are underrated and will have their day sometime soon.
