I'd say wait but I have no credibility on the subject.

Normally I might do it just to spend my eBay bucks this month but they changed those to be good for a year now.

I think the thing that should really give me pause is the move is coming in less than 4 weeks and I should hold orders until I can switch to the new address for delivery.

I'm trying to busy myself with updating my 2nd dollar set and focusing on that activity - which doesn't cost money. But I am seriously considering spending the money to bump my old 65 EPQ 10 Billion to a 68 EPQ.

Neat, maybe you can add timeframes to the Zimbabwean Ops???  :D

I managed to find a little more on how long Murambatsvina and Maguta ran and those programs in general and I've incorporated those into ZIM37 and ZIM38.

But this lead me to learn from a research paper that apparently they had programs in 1983, 2007 and I think 2011 targeted specifically at curbing prostitution and detaining unescorted women... Debating on whether or not to incorporate some of that information. I wonder if those in the government had enough self-awareness to think that, if there was an up-tick in prostitution, they were probably the indirect causes of it.

  3. I spent some time writing on my Word File last night and this morning I posted up some new descriptions for P-37 to P-49 that talk about things like Operation Maguta, Operation Murambatsvina, Operation Garikai/Hlalani Kuhle, Operation Reduce Prices, Operation Chikorokoza Chapera, and Operation Mavhoterapapi. I'm hoping a lot of this will add a lot of the historical context and backdrop with the set and extend some of that discussion from the 1st dollar notes (P-1 to P-12) and bridge the gap with some of what I have on the 3rd, 4th and New dollars.

    HA!

The note in the holder is from the new series, dated 2019. For the P 125 they basically stuck a holographic sticker on it, the design is exactly the same as the other 50 Hryven banknotes of the same series (P 121). Lol, blabbing does a few things for me. It helps to alleviate any temptation that might arise and it alerts others to it's existence and to the possible existence of others being out there. :gossip:

You'd have to pay shipping to them but, if you really want to end the temptation PMG will reholder a mechanical error for free.

  5. I think the system would have taken it and you probably would have gotten away with it until or unless someone complained or the set got serious attention for an award and someone was really looking. That nite isn't that different than the real deal and it even has the same denom from the looks of it.

But you've done yourself no favors by blabbing. lol

But do you have all the varieties of cancellation stamps use? LOL, oh I have a sickness because that's what I'm doing with the Ukrainian Compensation Certificates but at $2-$5 a piece it's a cheap way to stay active with my collection as the number of notes I'm looking for starts to wane.

That's a hard game to play just because most of the people that are selling these things are selling bulk / have several and the image is just representative. There's no real telling what exactly you'll get.

Not sure why you can't  enter a "wanted" note like you can across the isle with coins though. Sounds like those gas coupons are relatively inexpensive and picking up few more for an extensive "raw" collection sounds like a great idea to me, I'm doing something similar with some of my notes.

The ones I have have been mostly $3.50-5.00 each for nice ones fresh from the book. So, not much. Some ask for $10+ but I just don't buy from them. (shrug)

I would love the "want" option because that would also let me directly incorporate my soon to be 14 coin collection and have everything in one place painlessly. It's a little sad that we've never gotten cross-platform options in the registry. That could lead to some truly epic sets and online presentations for them.

Yeah, that's a little salty for the fuel coupons but there's always this years registry awards. :wishluck:

Yeah. We'll see. This year or another year, I just know, short of having a free $500 to use, I'd have a hard time sending these in at that price.

I'm still not crazy-optimistic about another Zimbabwe-related PMG win though. lol I think the challenge falls to the revamped Venezuela set this year. lol

$20? Mmmm, I don't know about that but at least it kind of fits in with the original notes. Design wise. I could see picking this up as a complement piece. There is a "gold plated" version of this that is being sold as a lot of 30 for $30, I could wrap my head around that.

Yeah... As I'm changing my search terms I'm seeing other, more reasonable options I may explore.

Now all you need are the Quadrillion, Quintillion, Octillion, Centillion, Bicentillion, Tricentillion, Yottalilliion, Durmillion, Zettalillion and Quadringentillion fantasy notes

Based on how many of these have sold, I may be alone in this, but I have a hard time convincing myself to spend $20-25 for a fantasy note when the real notes are available for this much or less in raw form.

It'll probably happen in the fullness of time...

That stinks. I can see those silver ones tricking a lot of people, especially if the sellers aren't up front about them. Those silver notes have probably fooled hundreds/thousands of people. How many $$$$'s have been made on these, hm, selling to knowing and unknowing buyers. Not a bad gig I suspect, even for 100% honest and upfront sellers.

I'm sure they've fooled many and these things have to be dirt cheap to produce.

I spent about $18 getting myself 20 golds and 10 silvers. I see people selling sets of 1 silver and 1 gold for about $8-9 after shipping. In absolute terms that would have gotten me a pair for less total dollars but I liked the idea of getting a bunch on the cheap and giving away as jokes and to kids. But you know the people selling those pairs are probably cleaning up!

The more I think about this the more I wonder if I should just put the NOTES section in the description. hm

That would be my suggestion, but some of the information in the other sections could be incorporated into it. I also would cut out the references and save that for you. Maybe it isn't scholarly but I don't think most registry viewers will care.

PMG posted recently that they would be faster to mark shipments as received to give us worry warts some piece of mind.

I don't know why everyone is losing their minds over the wait times. My biggest concern was mis-delivery by USPS and I felt they solved that by allowing you to put in your tracking number to confirm they had it.

I swear, the more we bug them the slower things get done while they waste time keeping people happy.

In my searching I've come across a lot of turtles and elephants, A LOT!  But still no skunks.

Yeah. I'm going to have to invest some time in researching those myself more, but I need to mostly settle Venezuela and Zimbabwe first.

Honestly I don't know that I would have gotten that 69 back in the day except I bought it on a 60% off sale and got it for $24. At that price I had no regrets. lol

PMG posted recently that they would be faster to mark shipments as received to give us worry warts some piece of mind.  Received is what I call purgatory and PMG did not say your notes would get out of purgatory faster.  I wish you luck!  Why did you break that into 3 submissions and not just one submission of 15 notes?? hm

The 2 six note ones were split because they're two groups of 6 (P-15 to P-20) that I wanted numbered -001 to -006. It might seem silly but it was worth $10 to get what I wanted IMO.

The three note wasn't supposed to be with those/ those weren't ordered until after I filled out the paperwork for the others. When I ordered those three I delayed mailing these in to send them all in and get them back together and save on shipping. But I'd already filled out and finalized the forms. Yeah. I could have redone the paperwork and done 6 and 9 or 15 on one, but I just made them their own.

Based on current turnaround times starting from. The day they arrived these should be ready to come home around 6/22.
