  1. The Forum is back up and working again for me! Yes! Anyway, there has been some news from Ukraine over the 4-week break. In the past month two new notes were released, with one sporting the signature of the new Governor of the NBU, Andriy Pyshnyy. On Dec. 12 the NBU put into circulation 100 Hryven notes dated 2022 and bearing the signature of the newly appointed Governor. This was a quick turnaround from appointment, Oct. 7th, to new notes, Dec 12th, I'm sure some U.S. collectors would be jealous at the quick turnaround although it did only take three months once new Treasure Malerba was sworn in. The note is of the same design as previous 100 Hyrven notes, design of 2015, and is the only denomination issued so far with the Pyshnyy signature. We'll see how quickly the other denominations are released and if any others will be dated 2022 or if the rest will be dated for the current or upcoming years. I have to say that the Pyshnyy signature is fantastic, bold, flowing, legible, probably the best signature to date on modern Ukrainian notes. This should end up being Pick # 126d once one is assigned. Signature of Governor Pyshnyy. The second new note released (Dec. 29th) was the 500 Hryven banknote commemorating the 300th Anniversary of Hryhoriy Skovoroda's birth. The commemorative note is of the same design as previous 500 Hryven notes, design of 2015, and bears the official symbol of the 300th anniversary celebration. The celebration symbol/logo is located directly over the watermark, similar to the 30th anniversary notes of 2021, and was applied by screen printing with optically variable ink. The logo depicts a silhouette of the sage/poet Skovoroda along with the text СВІТ СКОВОРОДИ (The world of Skovoroda). Interestingly enough the notes are all dated 2021 and bear the signature of the previous NBU Governor Kyril Shevchenko, I suspected that these notes would have Shevchenko's signature but thought that they would be dated 2022. I'm not sure why notes dated 2021 were used, must of just had some laying around. I believe this note will be assigned Pick # 132a when the dust settles. The Skovoroda commemorative has a print run of 50k, with 30k being sold in souvenir packaging, 554 UAH ($15.06), and 20k sold in plain NBU envelopes, 541 UAH ($14.71). All notes have the prefix ГС with the serial numbers ranging from 0000001 - 0050000, I'll be looking for some fancy # notes, binary specifically. Other Ukrainian banknote news includes the NBU bumping the release of the planned 20 Hryven commemorative banknote "The Russian-Ukrainian War. We Will Not Forgive!" from December 2022 to February 2023, I imagine this note will have the Pyshnyy signature and be dated 2023 but we'll see. Also scheduled in 2023 is another 20 Hryven commemorative banknote "Long Live Ukraine", the anticipated release is in December with a run of 300k. It's good to be back.

That note sold for some sick money, $510 USD! The final cost was probably around $560 with shipping and sales tax included.

One of my favorite notes, and it's friggin huge! You can usually find those raw, in really good condition, even UNC, for under $50, plenty of survivors.

Happy Holidays @VE Coins! Nice Newps! Seems like we're kind of in the same place with our note collections. Its slowed down quite a bit for me as well, seems like there are fewer available notes on the marketplace and at auctions, part of that is I'm getting close to finishing up a few sets, but it seems like ther are fewer notes in general. I also picked up a few random notes for my signature set and am thinking of sending in a submission in the next month or two. I'd post about some of this stuff more but I haven't been able to access the chat boards for weeks now except from phone. Everytime I get on them with my desktop computer the screens are all messed up, NGC no problem, PMG not usable. Hopefully I can figure out what's going on but it seems like it might be something on PMG's end. Posting Journal entries and uploading images of notes from my phone is just not something I care to try and struggle through. Good luck in 2023!
  5. Love the Newp's! Not to go off topic but are you able to access the Chat Boards via desk/laptop or are you working off your phone or tablet? I haven't been able to get on accept when using my phone. Not ideal for me.
  6. Haven't had much issue with posting photos other than the file size constraints, which I think is just shy of 5MB. I've had to shrink images down to fit them in the same post, or post the images separately.
  7. Just curious, how do the dimensions stack up to other $2 notes? Is the note pictured slightly smaller?
  8. Hard to tell what it is, can you post a pic of the other side? Not saying that it is the case, but it could be some sort of foreign material that made it into the pulp and was never removed, making it into a finished sheet/note. It'd be pretty hard to tell from pics and I would expect that the cutting shear would have still trimmed it off when being cut. So I'm still going to say that this happened after the note left the BEP.
  9. Approach any note with a NET grade with caution, if not a full sprint in the opposite direction. 👍
  10. Can you post pics of the back and face? Sure sounds like some sort of adhesive but can't say for sure without seeing it, maybe not even then. I'd be surprised if it was woven onto the paper.
  11. The pages appear to be a mess when I try to access them on my desktop, they are basically not usable, when viewing on my phone they seem ok, now. Could be an issue on my end but just thought I'd throw it out there and see.
  12. I don't disagree, it's a little disappointing. Typically PMG is much better than this at responding Have you tried emailing registry@pmgnotes.com?
  13. I can't say with certainty but the most likely reason for lacquering the seal and serial numbers would be to preserve them and/or to make them appear more vibrant. A practice that may have been considered acceptable at one time, along with pressing notes, but is now frowned upon. That's my best guess anyway, and definitely a note I would steer clear of.
  14. Man! The boards have been down for a week! For me at least. Ali E should get back to you soon. She is the best!
  15. Interesting, I'll have to look this up tomorrow. I'm going to assume that this was a preservation attempt but I want to look into it further. FYI, I haven't been able to access the forums for over a week, I'll be happy to take a look at this know that the chat boards are back up and running.

  17. Yep, PMG has done this in the past. You would have to contact PMG first to see if they would do this with your notes, they typically only do this with notes that relate in some way to one another, and if they ok it you'd probably have to select the Custom Holder option on the submission form (an additional $40). Service@PMGnotes.com
  18. It's definitely hard to find if you don't know where it is! It's located at the lower right of the central ornamentation. Welcome to the forum.
  19. I didn't but I see now after looking at the registry set you mentioned. I would think that you would be able to get an answer on this pretty quickly from PMG by trying to contact them via the PMG registry section of the Forum or email at registry@PMGnotes.com, they get back to much faster if you email, going through the Forum can take a week or more before they respond. I agree that the "Collector Series Specimen's" should have their own slots or set, I think that this would be an easy fix once you get in contact with PMG. I also wouldn't be afraid of sending these notes in for grading/authentication as there is already P#'s assigned.
  20. So you are saying that s3 specimen's are missing from the registry, for variety C issued notes, signature 10? This would make sense since there were no varieties listed in Pick and PMG leans heavily on the SCWP to create these registry sets. The first step would be to have PMG grade the s3 notes and get P#'s assigned to them, once that happens they will most likely create slots for the notes in that registry. That is if I'm understanding the problem correctly. I took a quick look at PMG's population report and I didn't notice any s3's listed. If you're talking about the '78, 50 Piso commemorative and the two '81's listed in the SCWPM then I wouldn't think those would be included.
  21. Depends on what notes they are and their condition. Can you post a pic, face and back of one or more of the notes so we can take a look? Sequential notes from that time period are a real nice bonus and it could add a little value to the right collector. It depends on what the notes are and their condition. For example if they were worth $1 each I'd probably bundle them, if they are worth $20 I might pair them in two's if they are $50+ I'd sell them individually. Normally you would see higher prices when selling individually but..
