Most folks start with a hometown note and it quickly gets out of control from there :-)

Here are the As from Large Size National Bank notes The A on the Fall River Replacement ought to look like the 1903 and earlier examples which includes one Replacement note. It does not; it looks like a modern, stubby A that you find on rotary numbering machines introduced in 1903 and that makes it a hybrid replacement. The Ogden and Gilroy replacements are also hybrid replacements because of the stubby A.

You're really tempting me to look at NBN's sooner rather than later.

ddr70 reacted to Revenant in Operation Sunrise and Zombie Dollars
I've wedged images of my gas ration coupons into my signature set using a P-15 certification number. That at least gets images of those into the set.

ddr70 reacted to Revenant in Operation Sunrise and Zombie Dollars
I spent some time writing on my Word File last night and this morning I posted up some new descriptions for P-37 to P-49 that talk about things like Operation Maguta, Operation Murambatsvina, Operation Garikai/Hlalani Kuhle, Operation Reduce Prices, Operation Chikorokoza Chapera, and Operation Mavhoterapapi. I'm hoping a lot of this will add a lot of the historical context and backdrop with the set and extend some of that discussion from the 1st dollar notes (P-1 to P-12) and bridge the gap with some of what I have on the 3rd, 4th and New dollars.

I think you should only buy REAL currency. https://currency.ha.com/itm/miscellaneous/disney-dollars-5-1987-uncut-sheet-of-eighteen-rodgers-r-unl/a/3551-25844.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515
jk just my 'goofy' opinion.

ddr70 reacted to Fenntucky Mike in Another Small Size National Set for MA
A very good start to the set! I'd love at least two more pictures per note, especially moderns, to display the note under UV and IR and watermarks.... Hmmmm..... Ok, I'd like to see at least five more pictures. Or be able to post pics in the description, I think I might even prefer that, but they don't even have these features across the isle and if it's ever going to happen it'll be there first. Then maybe over here in my lifetime.
The link is not working. My Sets Listing (collectors-society.com)
I didn't know about the GPO and BBS plates, good stuff.

Very interesting, thanks for posting!

ddr70 got a reaction from Revenant in Wow. PMG is on it!
Thanks! I always wish I had someone to do the paperwork for me ... at no charge. I do shift notes on the form so a $20 gets a -020 number or a radar SN with lots of 2s gets -002. I avoid the $10 per submission fee like that fee was going to my ex :-)

Thank You my friend. Any press is good press, as they say, and the write up was very gracious.

Nice write up on your Ukrainian sets by PMG: https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/article/9040/PMG-Registry-News/ Well Done FM!

Trying to figure out the attaching of pictures, this note is from Charter 64, same bank as Charter 2715, same signatures. It is an interesting story on how this bank went from Charter 64 to 2715 and then back to 64.

I fill in slots with other state's notes while I search on. But usually they are neat notes!! I got my grades back and added the replacement, but PMG has to approve use of an Fr. xxxR (R is for Replacement) in and Fr. xxx slot. It just takes an admin to make the addition. Here's that note.

I'll post my Series 1902 DB Milwaukee (2715) replacement--it's in QC now, so I ought to have a grade this week!! It will be here
as well as in a signature set on replacements. NOTE: There's a nice Milwaukee radar already in my Wisconsin Type set on Charter 6853. I've bid on a few notes from Racine--never won any. Thanks for sharing!

My bulk submission has seen movement, now "Scheduled For Grading", I think I may qualify to be called a "two digit midget" on my countdown calendar. Nice to have a fellow Warrior on board, not to many people recognize the crest but I always thought it was a pretty cool design. I was at Camp Casey 76 to 77.
I collect large size Wisconsin Nationals and some US Large size type notes.
One of my "Home Town" notes.

You need a 2ID short-timers calendar to countdown to receiving your notes . I was in the Warrior Division twice and a third time in 6th CAV (an Eighth US Army unit). Nice to see the 2ID crest!

I created a signature set for my national bank notes that are replacements. The Atlanta $20 is there now in a PMG 25 holder. It sports non-standard C's in the serial number, diagnostic for type 1 replacements. The SN also displays the typical rubber-stamped appearance.
You'll also find my PMG-graded large size NBN and a Fr. 228R 1899 $1 Silver Certificate Note Pre-Star Replacement PMG 35 SN R15745419 pp C4968/2519.

ddr70 got a reaction from Fenntucky Mike in Citizens United
Yes, Hampson and Clancy signed the Riverside, CA note. Riverside could also be in my set on notes with titles having something to do with water... I have a few creeks, bays, lakes, etc. in that set. lots of possibilities :-)

ddr70 reacted to Fenntucky Mike in Citizens United
Great set! I like the signatures on the Riverside note.
That set has a lot of room to stretch yet. I might start an "Old Citizens NB" set, then a "First Citizens NB" and so on. Baby steps for me, when I do start. So many ways to collect.

ddr70 reacted to Fenntucky Mike in Upgrade my system (sets) at least twice a day.
Definitely a centering issue, along with poor separation of the top and bottom perforations (not clean, crisp, clear tears/cuts like the sides) and a slight horizontal crease bottom center (more visible on the reverse). Not a stamp guy (yet) but that's what I'm seeing.
