  1. $1 Silver Certificates correct? Series '35E notes were printed prior to PMG's cutoff for Modern notes so they would have to be sent in under the Economy tier or higher. Series '35F and later would have be eligible for the Modern tier. You don't have to do anything additional for consecutive notes.
  2. I would just keep it in the sleeve and store it in a cool, dry, dark environment. It should stay stable and last many, many years. We'll both be long gone before anyone will need to worry about saving this note.
  3. Looks like a Fr 299a to me and in that condition it's probably worth around $200, maybe a little more. I'd leave it just the way it is. In a one on one transaction it's probably not worth having graded, if you were going to send it to an auction house they can make that call and get it graded for you.

Looks like there have been 90 submitted so far with only 12 at 68EPQ and 2 at 69EPQ, no 70's. Those aren't great numbers as grading %'s go and 90 is a big number, I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of sellers stuck with these and they'll have to unload them at fairly low prices.
  5. Hello, welcome to the forum. My opinion is that they are not worth getting graded but would sell for a decent premium, just not enough to justify grading. They have good serial numbers that would bump the price even though they are not fancy, and the star notes are from a small print and that would also boost there price a little. Condition is good but the notes show signs of handling and probably would grade around 65, the cost to have them graded would be around $40 when it's all said and done, I just don't see you recouping that cost.
  6. Try emailing registry@pmgnotes.com, someone will get back to you. It's faster to email and I think that PMG prefers you email them anyway. Good Luck.

  8. If they are keeping the best notes I'd like to know how I can get an invite or ticket to view the collection! I assume there's a waiting list.
  9. Yep, I have a couple 1d Onchan tokens, part of the reason I was thinking about the camp notes. Should probably finish with the tokens first though.

    July Update

Congrats on having the top set! Czech notes have a pretty good collector base and a LOT of material with seemingly limited availability, even the modern stuff goes for multiples of other countries, it doesn't surprise me that there are that many "stoppers" in the set. Hopefully you'll get lucky and find some nice raw examples in the future.
  11. I think they specialize in specimens, proofs, etc., I saw those Czech specimens and they were awesome! The seller also listed a ton of Yugoslavia, Georgian, and specimens from many other countries recently. It's been pretty amazing to see all these notes.
  12. The auctions ended today, all hammered at $700 or slightly above. I updated the entry to include the prices.
  13. They are going to be more of a side project. I was thinking of starting with the Internment Camp notes, Noonans had a few for sale recently, either those or ease in with some moderns. https://www.noonans.co.uk/auctions/calendar/695/catalogue/?keywords=isle+of+man&x=0&y=0
  14. Wouldn't surprise me if this was accurate, there seems to be a very active banknote community in Canada. Ukrainian notes being sold through a Canadian dealer make some sense to me as there is a large population of Ukrainians living there, all the other notes. Apparently they are well connected and stocked!

  16. Ah, yes it does. I hadn't noticed. I've been looking at some notes from the Isle of Man and they are somewhat similar. I haven't pulled the trigger on any IoM paper yet, there is a book on IoM notes by Pam West I've been waiting to pick that up before I start really looking at these notes.
  17. No clue, for some coupon's there are up to eight documented color trials, but taken at face the printer's annotation would suggest 3,691 for that particular note. Now, whether that means 3,691 of that note/color or if there are several color trials lumped in? Then how many escaped and survived? Hard to say based on available info but it seems there is a shortage. I'd love to know the answer to this question! The seller seemingly has an inexhaustible supply of great material, especially specimens, and just keeps listing notes from many, many countries. I've reached out to them on a item, hopefully we can work a deal. I might put together a wish list and see what they can do. monalisa-money-mondo ,They deal almost exclusively on ebay but do have a website you can go through as well. It's never easy to watch a great note pass by but the note will resurface eventually, or another will come up. The big questions are when? and will I live long enough to see the note again?
  18. I love that 20 Sucres note! I like it as much as the Baz un peso and almost as much as the un peso from Durango. It appears I have a type.
  19. Post a pic, movie clip, etc.. of banknotes in movies. Ziggy buying some counterfeit bills from Rocco.
  20. ...as I'm bowing out of these auctions. Timing was never something that seemed to worked in my favor, neither was luck, but with both being somewhat out of my control I can only sit back and watch as more amazing notes hit the auction block. Namely, three color trials and a printer's design being auctioned by the same seller who listed the 42 specimens only a few weeks ago. I suppose having a severe case of not wanting to let go, a set discretionary budget, and an acute lack of patience probably doesn't help my cause either. First is a 1993, 2000 Karbovantsiv color trial note. This is the fourth such note that this seller has listed, the first three being graded 67EPQ x 2 and another 66EPQ by PMG. The 67s went for $600, not including taxes and shipping, and an offer was accepted on a $999 BIN price for the second. The previous 66EPQ was listed with a BIN price of $999, with an offer being accepted for the note earlier this year. Bidding on the below note is currently over $500. Hopefully this seller has a few more up their sleeve and I'll be in a position to bid on them. EDIT TO ADD: HAMMERED AT $720 Next is a 1992, 100 Karbovantsiv color trial note. I don't have any records of this note, or another, being auctioned, making this note a first time offering of the type. Bidding is currently up to $505 on this note as well, but it should go much higher. EDIT TO ADD: HAMMERED AT $710 Also, we have what I believe to be another color trial but it is labeled as a P#88s. A #88s is a 100 Karbovantsiv specimen of the second series coupons with red-overprint "ЗРАЗОК" on the face and back with solid zero prefix and serial number, the color palate is orange, violet and grey, the note below appears to be a first and second printing red ink color trial. The color trial notes are typically identified by the color variations when compared to specimens or an issued note. The color trial notes of this denomination will also have a solid zero prefix and serial number, same as a normal specimen note, and no red-overprint "ЗРАЗОК" on the face and back. There are additional color trial notes with "SPECIMEN" in block letters stamped vertically in red on the left side of the face, these are very rare. Unfortunately for me the label isn't fooling anyone as bidding has reached $510 for this note. EDIT TO ADD: HAMMERED AT $700 Finally, a 1992, 50 Karbovantsiv printer's design. I love this note! I also have no record of this note, or any other, being made available. Currently unlisted in Pick, the seller must not have paid for variety attribution , it is listed in at least one other reference but not most, and none list this color. This note is great, an unreleased denomination for this issue, an unlisted color variety with printer's annotations, and the first time it's been available for purchase. This is possibly a unique note. Of course, the seller may list several other after this note is sold, who knows. Bidding is currently at $500 and should climb from there. EDIT TO ADD: HAMMERED AT $710 It's difficult to say how rare some of these color trials and printer's design notes are, especially as it seems PMG does not list these notes, P#'s, separately and possibly lumps them all together under the series and denomination specimen P#, making the Pop Report even more worthless than it already is. The one thing I do know is that there is a LOT of unique paper out there, especially for the coupons of '91-95. It's the eternal question of do you dig deep and go for these or establish a limit? Well, I've hit my limit and am going to have to let these pass, no matter how much I would like to keep going, at least I'm able to document them in my records and have decent images as well. I'm currently saving and selling off some coins in hopes of acquiring a U.S. NBN of all things. It's doubtful that I will win that note either but I'm going to give it a try, I already have my limit established, and if I don't win that note I will be left with a sizeable stash of mad money for the next note. As there always seems to be another note on the horizon.
  21. Welcome to the forum. If you're talking about the four letters, "I", on the note, that is the letter associated with that Federal Reserve Bank. A Boston B New York C Philadelphia D Cleveland E Richmond F Atlanta G Chicago H St. Louis I Minneapolis J Kansas City K Dallas L San Francisco If you're asking about the eight digit number repeated at the upper right and lower left, that is the unique serial number with block letters printed on the note and it is not considered a fancy number. 1929 is the series number, and D32 is the position and plate number.
  22. Yep. They usually have a pretty good variety of midrange notes, usually in low UNC grades, for those just starting out.
