  2. Hello @VonZilla9 Thank you for your reply. As Kailee mentioned, you are welcome to use bubble wrap. Tab lock boxes (example below) can also prevent the scenario you describe, as do cushioned envelopes. if you have any other questions, please let us know.
  3. Hello @MICHAEL ZIMMERMAN Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, I do not have any specific resources to refer you to for colonial errors. However, one of the books recommended by the PMG grading team for information on colonial notes, in general, is "The Early Paper Money of America", author Eric P. Newman, Krause Publications, ISBN 978-089689-326-9. While I am unable to review a potential error or estimate the grade of a note via the chat boards, as this requires an in-hand evaluation by the grading team, if you would like to post images of your note fellow collectors on the chat board may be able to provide some helpful feedback. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Pressed Notes

Hello @BosFRN Thank you for reaching out to us. You can submit a note that has been pressed but the pressing will affect the grade and the note will not be eligible to receive an EPQ (Excellent Paper Quality) designation because pressing removes contours in the paper leaving little to no trace of the original paper wave or embossing from serial numbers and seals. A pressed note will not receive a NET designation. Generally, the NET designation is used to indicate an issue with a note that may cause the note's condition to degrade over time, such as contamination with oil. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Miss cut notes

Hello @Jinnx Thank you for reaching out to us. For PMG to determine if a note is a Cutting Error, would require submission and an in-hand evaluation. I would like to share that typically, to qualify for a Cutting Error, a small portion of the adjacent note must be visible, or (when the error occurs at the edge of the sheet) a small portion of the note's design must be cut off. You can view examples of cutting errors here: https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/article/10310/error-note-chronicles-cutting-error/ If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  7. Hello @manofwar Thank you for reaching out. Changeover Pairs may also called hold-over or cross-over pairs and if the changeover occurs from a later series to an earlier series, then it is called a reverse changeover pair. These attributions do not have a specific category in the census. If you would like to see an example of how these notes are labeled you can find an article here: https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/article/2994/From-the-Grading-Room-Changeover-Pairs/ If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  8. Hello @Rarepapernote, Thank you for reaching out, The NET designation indicates a note that has problems that are more severe than can be reflected by the note’s assigned numeric grade. If a note receives the NET designation, the severe problem or problems will be listed. In general, the designation is used when the problem is likely to result in continued degradation of the note's condition. Normally, assuming it has been handled and stored properly, a note's grade is unlikely to change once it is placed in the holder. However, notes that are given a NET designation may degrade, and because their condition may change even in the holder, they cannot be assigned a standard numeric grade. The grade portion of the PMG Guarantee does not apply to Notes given a NET designation by PMG. Notes with the NET designation are guaranteed to be genuine only. An example of this type of problem would be a note that is contaminated with oil. Additional ink, regardless of the origin of the ink, would not generally result in a NET designation. Ink or minor ink is a description of a defect and would refer to the degree of ink observed by the graders on the note. This is not ink from the printing process. A small amount of ink on the note may be attributed as minor. Additional ink that is added to the note due to a printing error will generally receive the error designation "ink smear error." https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/article/10184/pmg-error-note-chronicles-ink-smear-error/ If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  12. Hello @Josh Ng, Thank you for reaching out to us. When we have graded a note that is not already included in the census, there is a waiting period of up to sixty before the note will be displayed. If you still cannot view the note after December 5, please let us know and I can have the grading team review the census data. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  13. Hello @Ramon Rosell, I would be happy to clarify. The NET designation indicates a note that has problems that are more severe than can be reflected by the note’s assigned numeric grade. If a note receives the NET designation, the severe problem or problems will be listed. The NET designation will generally apply when the damage could worsen over time, causing the grade to decrease even while in a holder. For instance, certain substances or severe rust on a note could have that effect. A portion of the print being faded should not continue to degrade over time and so the designation did not apply. If you feel that this note is over-graded, we can arrange for an Appearance Review, but based on the faded series alone, the NET grade would generally not be appropriate. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
