  1. Hello @MM83, While I am not able to detail the proprietary processes the grading team uses to differentiate staining or damage from printing errors, I can confirm that this differentiation is part of the evaluation. Notes are viewed with special equipment and under varying wavelengths of light to help identify the difference between defects such as extra printer ink and staining. Notes with printing errors are designated accordingly. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  2. Hello @MM83, Thank you for reaching out to us. When a note displays discoloration, it will be designated "Stained." Unfortunately, we would not be able to provide the cause or timing of the stain. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  3. Hello @vlad.k, Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry; I cannot recommend any tools or tutorials for measuring these features. The PMG grading scale details that a note's grade is affected by how centering and margins "appear to the unaided eye." You can view the grading scale here: PMG Notes | Grading scale. To obtain PMG's professional evaluation of your note(s) would require submission and an in-hand review by the grading team. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
