  1. I think your scans turned out great, the Russian 1 ruble note that says 1898 on it would have been printed between 1912- 1917 as it is the P#1d with Shipov signature, I'm unsure who's signature is the second though sorry. The other vertical note is P#11c with Shipovs name again but I don't know the other name. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful and maybe someone else will chime in as well. I mainly collect Czechoslovakia banknotes but I have others as well. I look forward to seeing more posts from you in the future.
  2. That is a nice group of specimens you have, and I'm glad that they graded nicely. Do you have any idea how many of the different specimens were produced for each different type, or is there anywhere where it is documented. Did Ukraine ever use regular issued bills as specimens like other countries did, where they would just punch out the word specimen. It's very interesting to see specimens from other countries that don't come up for sale as often. Great post!
  3. I made a post on the journal back on June 14th about a Czechoslovakia P5 1000 korun note that has been overstepped to indicate that the bill was a counterfeit bill. If I were to submit this note would it be recognized as a p-5X or would it be able to be graded? Thanks
  4. The authentic notes have the stamp like overprint as well and it is the only note in the first series that used the stamp overprint all the other notes from that time had adhesive stamps. The adhesive stamp notes are cool as well, I have a couple so far. They can be hard to find in decent condition but like this note I'm not sure if they were stamping uncirculated notes or any notes they could get their hands on. The adhesive stamp notes have some counterfeits as well but i don't have any.. The multiple stamps are all the same as far as I can tell. I'm not sure why it was stamped multiple times.
  5. So recently Mike has been sharing a lot of contemporary counterfeit Ukrainian notes and so I figured that I would share kind of along the same lines. The Czechoslovakia P#5 1000 korun which is an Austrian 1000 korun with a red stamp printed onto the Hungarian side of the note. This stamp turned the old currency of the Austro Hungarian Empire into "new" Czechoslovakian currency. These were issued in the newly founded nation for a short time period in 1919 and 1920 before new banknotes were printed and issued. Counterfeit bills were handstamped with an additional stamp over the red stamp that read "BANK UR MIN FIN PRAHA", (Banking Office of the Ministry of Finance Prague. This was to indicate that these bills were not legitimately stamped. I'm unsure if they were stamped with the extra stamp to make them legal currency or help identify them later when the new banknotes were swapped out . But it makes me wonder why they were stamped as opposed to being pulled from circulation. My example of this note is heavily circulated and damaged but the ink of the handstamp is still mostly visible. I don't know if this damage was from circulation under Czechoslovakia or Austria. Or just improper storage later. I am unsure what the total population of these notes is and how many survive to today. They were issued for a very short time period in the new nation of Czechoslovakia and they were a high denomination that was not used as much as smaller currency. Currently only 1 has been graded by PMG and no counterfeit notes have been graded, and these do not come up for sale very often.
  6. So I remembered your previous post about these and how they did the grid kind of haphazardly on the fakes and so my initial guess not reading was that 4, and 6 were real the rest were counterfeit. After reading I believe that 4 is fake as well based on the font on the back and that 6 is the only real one. I really like these posts!
  7. Cool note, great serial number too!
  8. Good day, Can you add a slot in the Czechoslovakia 1919- date p1- date complete including varieties set for the P91k , 2080451-042. Would it also be possible to add slots for the P90c and P90d. Thanks
  9. Great bill, Is this a P#5 specimen or something else since it is only printed on the one side.

    Czechoslovakia Pt 1

My submission was received Feb 25 and mailed out to me March 28, so a little over a month for standard grading. I thought the turnaround time was great, last submission I did was a modern coin last year that I mailed in August and got back in December.
  11. I was just looking for a 500 dollar bill in general, it was definitely on my bucket list as well and I hadn't really planned on getting soon, but the opportunity arose to get this one and I took it.

    Czechoslovakia Pt 1

Been wanting to start a journal to detail my journey as I work towards as complete as I can get collection of Czechoslovakia P1-98. I say as complete as possible because 100% completion is unlikely to happen since some issues are incredibly rare. I got back a submission of 9 notes last month and am happy with the grades that I received for the most part. All notes were acquired raw and self submission which will probably be how most of the early notes are added. Most of the later, Soviet Era, notes are available graded from time to time and I plan to add them as I can. My most recent addition is a beautiful 24s. I love the design of this bill especially the colors.
  13. Last week I acquired a bill that I have been wanting for years. And for reasons that I can't really talk about I was able to aquire it for face value. I am excited to have this in my collection.
  14. Nice pickups, do you plan on submitting any of them since there are none graded? Or holding out for something nicer since they are rare in nicer condition?
  15. Those sets seem interesting but I've picked up a couple of the new notes individually. I also totally agree with you that packages from Ukraine have been incredibly slow, I just got a couple packages this week that I had ordered early to mid December.
  16. A couple of specimen czechoslovakia 5 and 20 korun notes from 1944 that I got in the mail today.
