Did I find something worth grading?

3 posts in this topic

I found $1, $20, & $50 Canadian bills in an old book. Would they be worth having graded? I’m not a collector at all but they are from the 70s and look to be in near mint condition.

1973 $1 bill serial numbers are:

ECM7749286, BAK3056111, BAK3056113

1979 $20 bill serial numbers are:

52600995368, 52600995366, 52600995367

and the 1975 $50 bill serial number is:

EHM4678850

Those are not fancy serial numbers. I don't know much about Canadian currency. Chances are you probably won't increase the value much by grading them but I wouldn't be surprised if they do have some collector's value based on age and condition - but it probably won't be huge if I had to guess.

Not sure what the value of these notes would be. The serial numbers don't seem to be anything special. PMG has a price guide for world notes. To get a better price you may want to just check eBay and see if your note is already listed. Looks like someone is trying to sell the $50 PMG 67 for about $1,000. Seems high but I don't collect Canadian notes. Good luck.
