I inherited a Chinese Note collection

I have inherited a large Chinese collection from my Uncle. He put most of it together in the 70's and his collection is not numbered by Pick numbers. The system he uses are C294-222 etc. see the attached photo

Could someone point me in the correct direction as to the system? So that I can confirm, or convert to a pick number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The numbers are most likely from Chinese Banknotes by Ward Smith and Brian Matravers, it's a generally accepted reference. PMG even uses it.

What are your plans for the collection ?

Keep it...expand it....sell it....sell it for other currency/coins ?
