TD Henson
I have always had moderate interest in paper, but never could really get started. I've found a real fondness toward obselete's and confederate notes. Started a Signature Set to incorporate unique and interesting obsolete notes. Seems to be a fun and interesting way to keep the hobby fresh, take my interest away from coins now and again, so that nothing every gets stale. The first note has a bit of hometown flair. Hagerstown, MD is about 15 miles from where I grew up and I've been watching many of these Hagerstown Bank notes recently. Made a fair offer on this MS 64 EPQ and now I'm the proud owner. Perhaps the most interesting part of these notes is the traceable history, which I hope to be able to add to my Signature Set as time permits. greysoldier
Nice note Todd ~ I completely agree that paper money is a great way to expand your collecting enjoyment and that Hagerstown note of yours is an excellent example. Keep up the good work!
Revenant
That is in crazy-good condition for it's age! Really nice looking note and cool idea for the signature set. I love the copper civil war tokens. I wish I had more time to devote to collecting them. I've been working on a set of the Zimbabwe Trillion Series and I'll be posting about that later. I like the PMG holders because it lets me flip them around and look at the note without worrying about messing it up. I also hope it'll help me later on when I try to show them to the kid.
