Administrator NickiO CS Posted July 11 Administrator Report Share Posted July 11 Hello @MM83, Thank you for reaching out to us. When a note displays discoloration, it will be designated "Stained." Unfortunately, we would not be able to provide the cause or timing of the stain. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
MM83
Since the stain is the same color as the feather on the bill, how could it not be an ink stain during printing? Thanks
Administrator NickiO CS Posted July 18 Administrator Report Share Posted July 18 Hello @MM83, While I am not able to detail the proprietary processes the grading team uses to differentiate staining or damage from printing errors, I can confirm that this differentiation is part of the evaluation. Notes are viewed with special equipment and under varying wavelengths of light to help identify the difference between defects such as extra printer ink and staining. Notes with printing errors are designated accordingly. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
