Steve in Tampa
What type/types of lighting do the PMG paper money graders use to evaluate paper money submitted for grading ? And, what magnification level do they use ?
Administrator Jennifer F. Posted August 17, 2016 Administrator Report Share Posted August 17, 2016 Good morning, Thank you for your question. PMG graders generally use an overhead incandescent lamp when grading. The wattage varies slightly depending on individual grader preference. In certain instances the graders may also use UV lighting on a note. The level of magnification used depends on the specific note and its qualities. It can vary from 5x to microscopic levels. Techwriter
Late response but thank you Jennifer for your reply. I would have thought they might use a light table or some form of an LED light.
