DaMo-migration
I keep reading that the presence of pinholes on banknotes leads to a lower grade. How do Pinholes arise? Are they the result of pinning notes to clothing, or from using thumbtacks to pin notes to boards? Or are they the product of some biological process? Administrator Jennifer F. Posted March 10, 2015 Administrator Report Share Posted March 10, 2015 Good afternoon, Thank you for your question. The presence of pinholes can possibly affect the grade of a note, although our graders would have to examine the specific note in question before we could say definitively. Pinholes could arise from any of the reasons you mention in your original question. Unless you knew the specific history of the note, it may be impossible to know exactly what caused the pinholes. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thank you.
