LGS/DGS SERIAL NUMBER RANGES

where can i find the LGS/DGS serial number ranges for FRN's (5,10,20,50,100,500,1000) ?

i'm still having some trouble determining what is a DGS/LGS based on the look of the seal.

The reference book we use is titled Standard Guide to Small-Size US Paper Money 1928 to Date 9th Edition by John Schwartz & Scott Lindquist.

While talking with Scott Lindquist I was told the issue of LGS vs DGS is something they are working on. No idea what is in the works but I'm looking forward for the next edition to be released.

i was just looking at the book today.

checking to make sure my notes are LGS/DGS

no errors, PMG is getting them right.

 

but i wish the book would have included the Fr#'s.

maybe they will add the Fr.# with "m", "lgs", "dgs" etc.

same as what PMG is doing now.

 

the estimated prices look about right too.

Still waiting for that next edition to be released. As mentioned there was talk about a lot of work going into this subject for the next edition. I'm really looking forward to more info on 1934 $5 FRNs and of course any new info on Emergency notes. I'm thinking there will be updates to LFP prices in Emergency notes; it needs them.

I'm anxious to see the new book also. This area has always been a gray one, but Scott has done a great job with the information as I'm sure the new issue will represent.
