Got this one in the mail yesterday:
-
I got this one in the mail on Monday, it's pretty worn out, but you would be too if you were 120!
-
Well, this was my first attempt at scanning rather than a photo, so I have my work cut out for me!
-
I got this one last week from my dealer friend down in Indy, a nice upgrade for my woodchopper, this one is a very choice AU.
-
Excellent notes!
-
Yes, the bargain of the year so far! This tops my $5 FRN Fr. 869 that graded 64 EPQ that I bought for $135, so there are still bargains to be found in currency!
-
Well, I just checked and Heritage sold a pair in PCGS 63 just 3 days ago for $1,380 with the juice, so a 64 EPQ might bring a slight premium. It seems that these pairs in this design are the most common as they had pairs of Black eagles that went for like $14K! I have no plans on selling them at this point since they are the only unc. series 1923 silver certs I own!
-
Well then I guess I'll do that!
-
I thought PMG offered a multi-holder similar to NGC, but I could be wrong.
-
Yes, I hope to have them graded in a multi-holder.
-
Picked these two up today, reverse changeover pair, FR 237 and 238:
-
Nice one Zach! I'm like you, I think I only have one fractional and I believe it's the same one!
-
I think it was about $135 for the note originally.
-
This one is a crisp unc. series 1914 $5 FRN that I bought from a board member. He had two and asked a very reasonable price for a common note, but when I received it I looked up the signature combination and this is a rather uncommon FR. 869! What a pleasant Christmas surprise!
Got the grade on this one from PMG today, 64 EPQ! From their pop report, I think there was only one higher at 65!
-
Once again spectacular boiler!
-
Ha! Actually there are 19, but I couldn't get them all in the picture. They are my first consecutive unc silver certs.
-
I got these today in the mail, not much but I like them!
-
I just got these two in the mail today to complete my large size FRN type set:
-
I can't see the photo.
-
I picked this one up at a local show today:
-
WOW!
Since I'm still a newb at notes, Boiler is there any significance to the names listed on the front of the $1? At first I thought they might be the signers of the Declaration of Independence, but then there was Grant and Fulton and Lincoln and others who lived well after 1776. Are they just a listing of great Americans in history?

Well, the mail lady was good to me today! This first one is just a common series 1929 Federal Reserve Banknote that I bought off eBay. I had a $20 off code for Paypal, so with that discount I only paid $21.74 for this one delivered, so I figured that's pretty good!

What a nice educational note! They are so hard to find in nice shape and that one is certainly a nice looking one despite the issues along the edge.
-
Very cool fractional note! In my opinion they are quite underrated at the moment.

Thanks Harvey! As for purchasing, I've found a lot of good stuff at local shows, as it's easier to find things where folks may not know the details about what they are selling (signature combinations etc.). I bought these last two off eBay, but that's not the best place. I've purchased a few from Heritage as well, but unlike their coins, their photos of currency tend to look a little better than the notes once you get them in hand, so you should expect something less than the photos you see when buying from them.
