misprinted US dollar.

Hi, My girlfreind has a US dollar which was misprinted. As a printer myself I know the misprint was an offset of the front of the bill super imposed on the back. My girlfriend took it to a coin shop a long while ago and was told it wasn't worth anything because it was folded. I find it hard to beleive that something so unique is worthless because of a crease. Can anyone give me any information that I could pass on. I very much appreciate it. Thanks.

I would think it depends upon how large the offset is. An offset of half a centimeter is not rare, for example, and so unless it's in absolutely perfect condition, it would not command a premium.
