1929 $10.00 Federal Note

4 posts in this topic

Hi:

I recently receved a 1929 $10.00 Fedreal Reserv Bank of Chicago note SR# GO2091377A and it had a fold on the front when printing which left a blank thru the 10's. The bill is worn but has no tears. Can anyone offer some advice to how rare or valuable it may be.

I will try to add a picture.

Thats is an error called a gutter fold. When the sheet folds and the design gets printed over the fold, the sheet is then unfold and leaves a blank spot. Errors are very rare on national currency, and worth more than normal. That bill is not in very good condition and would not sell for much, maybe $20-$50 at best.
