Error Note Question

I have a 1995 One Dollar note. It is missing 1 digit and 1 letter from the serial number It reads : H4706444 thats all. I have had several people who collect paper money and they all agree that it is real. My question is how rare is this, and what kind of value (ball park) is there? I have contacted several currency shops and they all want me to send it to them, I don't plan on that until I know more.

There are many kinds of errors that exist. In order for us to establish whether or not the error is authentic, we would have to see the note. As for value, PMG does not appraise notes. One suggestion would be to have it graded, and submit it to auction, or research past auction sales.
