My question is why some note has this and some don't? is it better to have them?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Ernest PS. I am new to collecting and wondering How much this note is worth and if any one can grad it for me.Thanks.
jayjay2789
The government made many types of these notes with the date scattered in 2 different places. these are above sn, below sn, and right of seal. your note is worth about $125 in vf-20, $180 in ef-40, or $450 in pf-63. As for the placement of the date, the value slightly increases if the date is above the serial number.
123see
Thanks for the information, I have seen a lot of 1899 notes with no dates on that side and a few with the same date location as mine. I have only seen one with the date above the SN. Thanks again. Ernest
