Bushmills Whiskey is one such brand—and it’s one you should try at least once if you’re a fan of Irish whiskey! Bushmills Distillery is Northern Ireland’s oldest operating distillery, opened in 1608 and still producing Bushmills Irish Whiskey today. It is the only distillery in Ireland to use a floor malting process and their whiskey production has been slow and steady since their inception. This historic brand was established by John Dunbar who built his distillery on a site near Ballymoney town centre on the edge of Belfast Lough – an ideal location for transporting grain from surrounding farms by sea or river into town where it could be processed into whiskey at Bushmills Distillery.
