The national governing body of the PRSA Ireland Chapter is the National CEO Council, which comprises elected members from across the country. Our objectives are to provide a forum for members to develop and enhance skills, knowledge and professional contacts; organise events throughout the year including networking events and professional development seminars; promote best practice through continuous learning opportunities; encourage research into key industry issues; share information on current trends; represent their profession on all levels within society thus ensuring maximum profile for public relations practitioners in Ireland. The chapter is affiliated with the international Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), which has more than 100,000 members and more than 500 chapters worldwide. The national council of PRSA Ireland consists of 18 people who represent a variety of interests, including public relations agencies and corporate communications departments. It meets regularly to set policy for the organization as well as to elect new board members every year at its annual general meeting (AGM).
