Hello COTEVINA,

I just wanted to update you regarding your request and to let you know we have created a world category and sets for South Viet Nam. I hope you enjoy creating sets to display your collection. In the future, look to see new categories for Viet Nam and French Indo-China as well!

Have a great Weekend!

Barbara,

Thank you so much for creating the sets. I haven't check my mailbox for nearly 3 weeks and was very surprise and happy when I checked the PMG competitive registry and noticed the sets. Needless to say, I was very anxious to give it a try. I look forward to having newer categories for Vietnam and French Indochina in the very future. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Barbara,

After going through the sets, there are some suggestions that I would like to make. The South Vietnam Complete Set is missing the following numbers:

P-6A 500 Dong (1962)

P-16a 20 Dong (1964).

You should also separate P-37 10 Xu 1966 to P-44 50 Dong 1966 as a separate category because technically it is no longer the same government and title it "Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam".

Also a separate category within the set or a continuation of the set to include the following R numbers:

P-R1 10 Xu (1963)

P-R2 20 Xu (1963)

P-R3 50 Xu (1963)

P-R4 1 Dong (1963)

P-R5 2 Dong (1963)

P-R6 5 Dong (1963)

P-R7 10 Dong (1963)

P-R8 50 Dong (1963).

The above set should be titled if a separate set "National Liberation Front of South Vietnam".

If you have any questions or updates, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Quoc

Hello Quoc,

We have reviewed your requests and went ahead and added the missing SVN6Aa and SVN16a notes to the complete set. We have also renamed the P-37 - P-44 set "Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam".

At the moment we do not have "Specialized" competitive note sets but will consider your request for a set in the future.

Thank you for all your input, have a great holiday.

Barbara,

I just looked over the "South Vietnam Complete Set" and suggest that you consider deleting the "Bank Building Issue Set" and "Palace of Independence Set". In my opinion having the two latter as separate sets is "inefficient". It doesn't "encourage" people to finish the entire set which only covers about 20 years. In its place you may want to consider "South Vietnam Complete Specimen Set" and also "Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam Specimen Set". Pick catalog has listed the National Liberation Set (P-R1 to R8) as "Specialized" but in my opinion you should consider listing it because the NLF was the precursor to the PRGSVN and should be a separate set within South Vietnam or included with the PRGSVN with a notation that they were not issued. Thank you for all your efforts.

Hello Quoc,

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, PMG Competitive Registry sets do not include specimen notes, proof notes or essay notes. Also, as I stated earlier, we will consider the specialized set in the near future, not a problem. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. And as always, thank you for your participation in the PMG registry.

Hello,

Yes, we are in the research and evaluation process of notes that need to be added to the appropriate sets. This will include the Small Size Federal Reserve note category. Thank you for your patience while we gather our resources to get the notes added.

Barbara,

Request that the polymer notes be separated from the State Bank of Vietnam set. In my opinion many people collect polymers but not the paper issues. I think you should change the title as follows: State Bank of Vietnam 1964-1994 and State Bank of Vietnam (Polymer Issues). Please advise if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration. Barbara,

Now that a category has been created for the polymer issues, may I suggest that you remove (delete) the polymer issues from the "regular" State Bank of Viet Nam set. This would make it less cumbersome. The State Bank of Viet Nam set should only include the paper series from Pick 74A to 117a. Of course if you really want to make it correct, you may want to follow the following outline:

North Viet Nam State Bank Issues (P-74A to 78a)

Socialist Republic of Viet Nam State Bank Issues (P-79a to 117a)

Socialist Republic of Viet Nam State Bank Polymer Issues (P-118 to 124f)

Keep up the good work, eventually, I think we can finally put together a registry that is both historically and politically correct. Best regards and thank you.

Hello Quoc,

Your request has been granted. The following sets have been created.

North Viet Nam State Bank Issues (P-74A to 78a)

Socialist Republic of Viet Nam State Bank Issues (P-79a to 117a)

Socialist Republic of Viet Nam State Bank Polymer Issues (P-118 to 124f)

The "State Bank Of Vietnam" set has been renamed "Socialist Republic of Viet Nam State Bank Issues" and P74A-P78a removed. Also VNM113a has been added to the appropriate sets.

Thank you so much for all your input.

Regards,

Barbara T.

Barbara,

Excellent ! Now, let's consider the following. "National Bank of Viet Nam Set" should be split up into two sets:

Democratic Republic of Viet Nam National Bank Set (P-59 to P-66)

North Viet Nam National Bank Set (P-67 to P-74)

P-59 to 66 was issued and circulated from 1951 to 1958. North Viet Nam was officially recognized after the Geneva Agreement of 1954 to 1956.

P-67 with the "1 xu" overprint was technically and officially used after the 1959 currency reform, therefore it should be listed under North Viet Nam.

The "Tin Phieu Credit Note Set" should be renamed:

central Viet Nam Credit Note Set (P-43 to P-58). I noticed that in the current set (P-54 to 58 were not included). Noticed the small case "c" in central, since it designates an area and wasn't officially a separate or recognized country. However, if you don't like the word "central" we can always use again the words "Democratic Republic of Viet Nam Credit Note Set".

Looking forward to your input. Thank you, Quoc

Barbara,

Under "Viet Nam - South", may I suggest you delete "Bank Building Issue Set" and "Palace of Independence Issue Set" and replace with "Republic of Viet Nam Set" (P-1 to P-36).

Also add P-R1 to R8 into the "South Viet Nam Complete Set" (P-1 to 44 and P-R1 to R8).

Once finished this is how it should look:

South Viet Nam Complete Set (P-1 to 44 and P-R1 to R8)

Republic of Viet Nam Set (P-1 to 36)

Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Viet Nam Set (P-37 to 44)

National Liberation Front of South Viet Nam (P-R1 to R8)

Any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. Quoc

Barbara,

Wonderful job on the South Vietnam Sets, however they forgot to add P-R1 to R8 to "South Vietnam Complete Set" category. Currently it only goes up to P-44. Thank you and best regards. Quoc

Barbara,

Wonderful! I hope that you have had a wonderful 4th of July holiday. The equivalent here in Vietnam is 2nd of September.

South Vietnam is now perfect, however Vietnam needs a little revision. Here is what I suggest it should look like once corrected.

Vietnam Complete Set (P-1 to present)

Central Vietnam Credit Note Set (P-43 to 58)

Democratic Republic of Vietnam National Bank Set (P-59 to 66)

North Vietnam National Bank Set (P-67 to 74)

North Vietnam State Bank Set (74A to 78)

Socialist Republic of Vietnam State Bank Set (P-79 to 117)

Socialist Republic of Vietnam State Bank Polymer Set (P-118 to present)

I suggested small case "c" for central but since it is the beginning word of a geographical description, kindly correct it.

Consider deleting "National Bank of Vietnam Set", since you now have DRVN National Bank and NVN National Bank.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again for all of your effort. Best regards. Quoc

Barbara,

Please include P-84b in the Vietnam Complete Set and Socialist Republic of Vietnam set. There are currently no slots. I have here PMG 8021800-015 and 016. Also, the Vietnam polymer category doesn't seem to be working. I have here PMG 8021800-021 to 025. Please advise, thank you and best regards.
