Question on this 1902 Los Angeles National

Other examples I have seen are slightly different and have a "P" on the obverse. Any expert out there to provide info including rarity would be appreciated.

It is extremely common. That particular example has been washed and pressed as well. The P is a regional letter that represents the part of the country when the note was issued. It was used for sorting purposes when notes were redeemed in DC. The regional letter was discontinued in March of 1924.
