Conservation for currency

With my limited experience with paper money I have noticed pencil annotations on notes occasionally that I do not dare try to remove even though I have known dealers who speak of how easy this is with the right eraser.

 

I have heard that conservation services may be offered at some time on currency. Does anyone know at what stage such plans are and what would be the hurdles for a company to offer a conservation service for paper money?

The paper money hobby is many times smaller than coins. I am not sure that there is a need for the service right now. Furthermore, the dealers and collectors who really need something repaired already know a few places that will do the work.
