HELP with price guide for world paper money (RARE! LEBANON NOTE)

1 post in this topic

Hey guys.

so i recently submitted a lebanon bank note to PMG, and just got the results.

the note is a Lebanon (Banque de Syrie et du Liban) 1939 50 Livres overprint Olive Type E.

I've made a little research beforehand, and found out that PMG only graded 2 of these (not including mine) - 1 graded 55EPQ, and one graded 58.

mine just came back 58EPQ. TOP POP BABY!

My question is regarding price guides. here are the details:

Certification #: 8006554-001

Note #: LEB30b

Country: LEB

Note Description: Lebanon Banque de Syrie et du Liban

50 Livres 1939 - Printer: BWC

Signatures/Vignettes: - Ovpt. Olive Type E

Grade: AU 58 EPQ

Comments: Exceptional Paper Quality

no price indicated.

i have the standard catalog of WORLD PAPER MONEY 1368-1960 (13th edition) by George S. Cuhaj . it's a great book. when looking for this note, i found it on page 797 (left at the very top of the page), it is #30 and the second variety down (olive type E).

Now it only shows price for GOOD ($150) and FINE ($750).

i guess it makes me happy, since i now know that the note is maybe too rare to have XF and UNC. maybe im gust wishing..

anyway, i would like to know an estimate of the value for this note. couldn't really find any past auctions or anything.

I will upload pictures as soon as i get them.

any help/info is greatly appreciated!

thank you

Johnny
