almost solid serial $100 note question

9 posts in this topic

I don't collect paper money, but I got an almost solid serial # yesterday.

HE 31333333 B E5

Series 2006

Looks like it was folded in the middle once; paper-clipped once; slightly frayed on top; but otherwise in better condition than most money in one's wallet.

Is this worth anything? A quick scan of EBay shows that solid # collecting is either (1) hardly practiced and overpriced, or (2) so rare that scarce listings and high prices are justified.

Collectors of $100's are few and far between, and usually picky about condition unless the note is very rare. I don't normally collect $100's, but when this 1981 Richmond Star note came up for sale, even in it's current condition, I had to have it. These rarely come up for sale.
