"Dirty" Hawaii $1 notes

2 posts in this topic

I read somewhere that the $1 "Hawaii" notes typically look dirty due to the production methods. Is this true, and if so how does PMG take this into account when grading such notes. I have what appears to be an UNC note of this type that appears "dirty". Also any info regarding this topic is appreciated.

Thank You.

The Emergency issues were printed quickly and used a few varieties of paper in some cases. These different paper types sometimes gives off a different appearance when compared to others. We grade each note individually and understand the differences that occur with these issues, so we take this into account when grading emergency issues.
