Courtesy Signature

Found this crisp uncirculated silver certificate in a stamp album of my Grandfathers. A suprise to find the courtesy signature as well. Although not centered, it seems to be a sharp note.

Are courtesy signatures common for bills of this age and for this 1935E??

Nice find.

Ivy Baker Priest was one of the more prolific autograph signer's of her time.

This 1935E Silver Certificate was distributed from the early to late 50's, and Ivy Baker Priest was Treasurer of the United States under President Eisenhower. (1953-1961).

Her autograph is not uncommon. Would you consider selling it Chet ?

Steve

Thanks for your thoughts. As a coin guy, not much up-to-date on paper money. Just by going through stuff, I have found this plus a group of uncirculated $2.00 and a well circulated $10.00 1901 Bison which had not seen the light of day since 1937 (ledger date in the book).

As for selling, think I will wait a bit. I might just want to pass it on to one of my grandsons... Thanks for asking.
