Official Coins
Hi everyone. I work in a retail store and came across a run of consecutive numbered star notes. Is this rare or does this happen at times. The notes were CU but were then bent and put in vending tubes so now I guess they would grade AU? Thanks for any input. Andy Welcome to the PMG message boards Andy, and good question. The quick & easy answer is some star notes are available in packs of 100, and some are found in pairs. It also depends on the denomination and series (year). Post some photos for us.
Weg
Andy, it can be harder to find consecutive notes of either stars or regulars after the banks get them. The reason is that when new notes are in original packs they tend to stick together so banks mix them with circulated notes to prevent counting errors. I've seen them crinkle new notes which makes them instant AU so they don't stick together and makes me cringe even if they are common notes. HiHoAudio
Definitely save them and put away any fancy serial numbers. Spend the others as need be. My two cents...
