OT: Switching/Adding another safe deposit box...

Okay, I finally found another bank closer to me that is open 7 (yes 7!) days a week. I opened a second checking account and a safe deposit box as well. Amazingly, and this has me worried, she didn't charge me for the safe deposit box! I asked if there was some sort of promotion and she said no, I also am getting a fairly large box; so this surprised me. I wonder if I should be worried? I don't want them confiscating the box for a perceived lack of payment. All they have to do is debit my checking account and the money is there...

 

I am going to call today as I am concerned about this, though...

That is very interesting. I have (4) boxes now and I wish I could get (ONE) of them for FREE -

When I decided to get a safe deposit box at the credit union where I've had an account for a few years, I was told it was free.

 

That was a pleasant surprise. They told me it was free because of my age. (58)

I also got a free SDB (small one) with a national banking company for having a checking account.
