Block collecting???

4 posts in this topic

Hello,

Could someone explain 'block' type collecting or block collecting? What does this mean? I have a note from PMG; a 1923 silver certificate that has (A to G block) on it. Does this add value? If anyone can explain, I would appreciate it as I have no idea what block collecting is or what a 'block' itself is! Thanks in advance!

Block collecting is normally done on Small Size notes. I'm one of those type collectors.

A block collector will try to aquire all the possible blocks that were printed in a certain series (With or Without the STAR). An example is the following with a STAR included:

Prefix Block Letter - 8 Numbers (S/N) - Suffix Block Letter

1934 $1 Silver Certificate (Block Series)

AA - Block

BA - Block

CA - Block

DA - Block

EA - Block

FA - Block

GA - Block
