I read with interest your discussion on gold certificates and large bills. Would like to know if either should be sent for grading. Thanks so much for your expertise. Pat

The Gold certificate would probably grade a 20 or 25. Are you a collector? If so spend the money on a new note instead of grading. Maybe someone else could help with the large note. I think the gold is worth more though. Hope that helps some

The silver cert is common, looks to be a F/VF, perhaps worth about $40-60, but not worth grading in my opinion.

My husband got the large silver note from his Dad who had it framed in his office for years. Will probably hang on to it for a while. Thanks

Neither is not worth the cost of being graded due to their condition. The $10 gold in the condition as shown is worth around $60, and the $1 is not really collectible in the grade shown (you can get a CU for around $100). Enjoy them as they are.

Hope that helps and saves you the grading fee.
