I look at this section everyday but I don't know that much about paper money so I usually don't post here.

Cointalk has a very active paper currency section.

Not a lot of paper collector's - they all must be lurking in the shadows... :shy:

I collect both coin and paper - so I hang here and will be renewing my CS this week.

However, I might want to check out the forum for my $2 and $5 FRNs. Thanks!

I have a fair amount of paper, however I don't have a scanner and IMHO pictures don't really give a real feel for paper. So I haven't been posting here... yet.

K while I have some of you guys on here would anyone like to post a note or notes from their collection? Lets just throw up anything. Large, small, error, fancy, low...

Not a gold certificate but kind of a cool "lucky number" serial #:

PS - I posted a bunch of nice old rare Dutch notes elsewhere. Do they count?

Poor Secretary Barr - he didn't live long enough to see his notes issued...

On the 1999 $1 FRN from Chicago - you are so close to a "Super Solid 7's" designation. Would it be eligible for "semi-repeater" designation w/ six "7's"?

I check here a few times a week, but I don't actively collect paper nearly as much as coins ... and after a few years on this forum, I'm still under 1000 posts.

This is probably the nicest non FRN note in my collection. Sharp corners, no folds or bends, very nice embossing.

Get that note in to a PMG holder... Nice!

Thanks :) I plan on getting it in a holder at some point, its a superb note.

Here is a nice fractional. PMG has only graded 15 of these. Maybe I should send this one off as well. Sorry for the dark pictures...

Sure he did. Barr didn't die until 1982. His short term in office was because he was nominated by Lyndon Johnson at the end of 1968 but a , Richard Nixon, won the election in 1968 and after he took office in 1969 he nominated a new Secretary of the Treasury. That ended Barr's 31 days in office.

I stand corrected - I was under the impression he died in office. I guess a "political death" is more like it then.
