low serial number

just got a 2004 fifty dollar bill in change,with i think is a low serial number of 01111117. is this considered low enough to hold on to? any advice would be appreciated. this bill i think would grade vf.

If it was a star note in AU condition or above I would keep it. A non-star $50 2004 in unc with a 4 digit serial number would be worth keeping. I hope this helps.

In general anything that has 4 leading zero's is considered low numbers! When you get to 3, 2 and then 1 digit numbers..well the $$$$ goes up!!

 

Brians example is an excellent one! But those you will not find in circulation.

 

Also the condition is important, but if it is a low, ladder, radar, reverse radar, binary or one of many other possibilities..it is collectable!
