It has been chemically altered. It's a pretty good scheme actually, buy a cheap old red seal for just above face, chemically alter it, then hype it up for a profit.

It looks washed and pressed to me! Also look for ones not missing corners!! It isnt easy to find them but the can be found! Missing corners was commonly thought to bring good luck! But often decreases values!
