Can someone explain me the story of how the French still printed money from 1940-1945 after they surrendered to the Nazis in the 1940s? I have a 1943 Dix Francs note, can someone explain this to me?

i think it was printed by the Vichy goverment. it succeded the french goverment after the french dfeat to Nazi Germany. also the vichy goverment "fought" against Allied forces in north africa.

Here's the Vichy France Wikipedia page. Even though the French were defeated, Germany let the French collaborators run the country themselves.
