Very cool notes, I looked at the auction listing for the 5 chervontsiv and you weren't kidding about uber rare, I wonder how many of those survive when the pmg population is only 3? I have kind of been in the same boat lately, mostly buying notes for other sets or coins and nothing too exciting has come up lately.

Nice additions this month! I really like the Suriname note, its cool to see the changes that occurred after WW2. Thanks for the post, your set is coming together nicely.

@VE CoinsAll Czechoslovakia notes, most of them are early notes that you just don't see come up for sale graded often, and when they do they are usually buy it now for way too much.
Same here, just not for Czechoslovakia!
I like the 50 Korun note and the Croatian one - a specific person?
Sounds like the definitive reference set needs putting together for the whole region

    Nice pickups!
I actually have a bid in on a Czech P# 85b right now, it's a lowball bid so I don't expect to win but maybe.
    Good luck on the submission.

Wow that's crazy, I know notes have been going for more money but did this go for more than you thought it would or more than it should have?

Yeah I'll agree with you, it seems like there has been less available. Recently this note popped up, and while I'm not trying to get it I think it is a really nice note. Some of the notes from around that time period are so colorful and detailed.

I am actually having the opposite problem, the chat boards work just fin for me at my desktop computer but if I try and access them on my phone it loads wrong and is all jumbled. NGC works just fine on both for me as well.

Very interesting to read about this. Do you know if any variations exist between other Ukrainian notes from 1992 and this time period. Kind of strange that only the replacement notes have the UV ink in them. Hopefully with your 100 more notes it will be a big enough sample size to draw more conclusions. Ill take you up on your challenge and ill post a response with my guesses sometime soon.

Those are some nice notes you managed to pickup. Like you said they will show back up again though. There have been quite a few rare Czechoslovakia notes that have sold over the past few months, some I hadn't seen sell for a few years and they have been commanding very high prices as well. I still feel like I get a deal every now and again but I don't win too many auctions I compete for, things are going for more than I expect or can afford.
I kind of go for a mix of graded notes, mostly modern notes and most of the older notes I get are upgraded that I will submit eventually

I think your scans turned out great, the Russian 1 ruble note that says 1898 on it would have been printed between 1912- 1917 as it is the P#1d with Shipov signature, I'm unsure who's signature is the second though sorry. The other vertical note is P#11c with Shipovs name again but I don't know the other name.
Hopefully this is somewhat helpful and maybe someone else will chime in as well.
I mainly collect Czechoslovakia banknotes but I have others as well.
I look forward to seeing more posts from you in the future.

VE Coins got a reaction from Fenntucky Mike in I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of [Specimens]!
That is a nice group of specimens you have, and I'm glad that they graded nicely.  Do you have any idea how many of the different specimens were produced for each different type, or is there anywhere where it is documented. Did Ukraine ever use regular issued bills as specimens like other countries did, where they would just punch out the word specimen. It's very interesting to see specimens from other countries that don't come up for sale as often. Great post!

The authentic notes have the stamp like overprint as well and it is the only note in the first series that used the stamp overprint all the other notes from that time had adhesive stamps. The adhesive stamp notes are cool as well, I have a couple so far. They can be hard to find in decent condition but like this note I'm not sure if they were stamping uncirculated notes or any notes they could get their hands on. The adhesive stamp notes have some counterfeits as well but i don't have any.. The multiple stamps are all the same as far as I can tell. I'm not sure why it was stamped multiple times.

So I remembered your previous post about these and how they did the grid kind of haphazardly on the fakes and so my initial guess not reading was that 4, and 6 were real the rest were counterfeit. After reading I believe that 4 is fake as well based on the font on the back and that 6 is the only real one. I really like these posts!
