Fake first charter national?

I picked this up from a NY dealer who thought it was a good note. Rock bottom condition but relatively rare. A couple weeks after putting it on ebay someone finally said it is a fake who knows real from fakes.

I agree; notes were not made with straight paper but with durable mixes with fibers.

Yes, that is almost certainly an old counterfeit.
