I know I am several months late to this party, but I just joined the forum and the Binion note conversation caught my attention since they are what got me interested in currency collecting! Many years ago, I met a collector who owned two of the Binion notes and they were gracious enough to let me actually hold them and gawk over them both up close while teaching me the history behind them. To give you an idea of how thrilling that was for me, I never even knew large denomination notes were actually real until then. I had never even heard of anything over a $100 bill and honestly had only seen one of those on a rare occasion lol. The most impressive part (which I honestly didn't really appreciate the significance of until years later) was that they were sequential and both graded very highly. If I'm not mistaken, they were the highest graded sequential pair of 10k notes known at the time. I will never be able to afford one unless I win the lottery one day, but having one will always be at the top of my dream collection because of that experience! Thanks for the nostalgia!
