  1. Hi there, I am completely new to this section of the boards. I know nothing about collectible currency.

     

    Question: At an estate sale this morning, I bought (for almost nothing) a small envelope of old foreign currency. I just thought it looked cool. Now I'm wondering: Is it worth anything (other than face value)? Are any of these notes rare, or are they fairly common among those who collect this sort of thing? Here is a pic:

    Currencies include the Phillipines, Mexico, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and "Military Payment Certificates" for a whopping 5 cents. Many have no dates, but I saw 1949 on a few of them. I'm curious for any light you might shed on 'em. Thank you!
